IWSAI Hackaton
IWSAI 2026 Hackathon
This is an intensive innovation competition in which participants work continuously for 24 to 48 hours to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges related to artificial intelligence, computational systems, and technological applications. Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members, with at least one student required. Optionally, teams may include researchers or professionals, provided the maximum of four participants per team is respected.
Challenges will focus on priority areas such as smart cities and homes, digital health, technology education, sustainability, and the circular economy. The initiative seeks to align innovation with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the current needs of the region and the world.
- 💧 Water resource management in the face of droughts and extreme climate events.
- 🌊 Resilience to disasters such as the “El Niño” phenomenon.
- 🌾 Modernization of agroindustry through precision agriculture.
- 🏭 Digital transformation of micro and small enterprises (MSEs).
- 🚍 Sustainable and inclusive urban mobility.
- 🌐 Digital inclusion in rural communities.
- 🐟 Smart management of fisheries and marine resources.
Development and Resources
Participating teams will have access to datasets, technological platforms, and specialized mentoring from international experts, who will support the different phases of ideation, design, and project development. Results must be presented in the form of a functional prototype, software, application, or practical demonstration, highlighting their impact, originality, and scalability.
Evaluation and Awards
A specialized jury will evaluate the proposals based on the following criteria:

- 💡 Social impact and sustainability.
- ⚙️ Technical feasibility and quality of development.
- 🚀 Scalability and implementation potential.
Winning teams will receive official certificates, international dissemination of their projects, specialized mentoring, and a surprise prize awarded during the IWSAI 2026 closing ceremony.
